 Academics

Academics form the framework around which Peabody High School is built, and PHS offers a diverse academic curriculum designed to meet the needs of Trenton area residents. The State of Tennessee Department of Education mandates that all Tennessee students meet certain standards of achievement, and PHS supports those academic goals.

For the 2006-2007 school year, the Tennessee Department of Education has selected seven subjects for Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) testing at the high school level, and these subjects are an integral part of the core curriculum at PHS. Algebra I, English II, and Biology I are designated by the state as Gateway subjects; Math Foundations II, English I, U.S. History, and Physical Science are designated for End of Course (EOC) testing.

Additional information about the TCAP program is available from the State of Tennessee Department of Education Web site. Each of the state standards against which Peabody High School students will be tested is available from the Department of Education by clicking on the appropriate link below.
