Health Services Provided for our Students!

  • At TSSD, we are very fortunate to be able to offer supplemental health services to our students. Coordinated School Health partners with local agencies, colleges, and hosptials to provide these extra health programs free of charge to our students.

    • Gibson County Health Department - They partner with CSH to provide flu shots to our students, as well as flouride treatments. These are voluntary programs, provided with parental permission.
    • Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Nursing students partner with CSH to assist with state mandated health screenings.  Each PreK, K, 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, and 9th grade student participates in these screenings with parent permission.  Screenings provided are vision, hearing, blood pressure, color vision (kindergarten only) and bmi.
    • Le Bonheur on the Move - CSH has contracted with Le Bonheur to provide on-site medical wellness checks for the last two years.  As of April 1 of 2018, the mobile clinic has seen over 150 students just this 2017-2018 school year, with more scheduled in April and May. Students ranging in age from 3-17 have been seen by the Le Bonheur medical staff on their unit. In addition to the mobile clinic, some students continue follow up services through participation in the 85210 program offered by a RN qualified health educator.
